Autism and Anxiety Talk
On Thursday 22nd November 2018 APSGW and Smiles were pleased to be host to an Autism and Anxiety talk at the Wickford CLC Centre where we welcomed two Autism specialists. In this two hour session these two specialists talked to us all about Autism and Anxiety and the links between them both and how they may affect an individual, coping strategies and ways in which to help those suffering.
It was an extremely insightful meeting and we were pleased to see so many faces attend, it was certainly a great turn out.
We were also able to raise £100 from donations from those who attended which was donated straight back directly to the Wickford CLC centre who so kindly allowed us to use their venue for the evening
On Friday 12th July 2013 the Abacus Parent Support Group Wickford held a charity Evening in aid of the Abacus Primary Special Educational Needs Department and SNAP Charity, where with the support of all of those who attended the evening and through prize draw ticket sales we managed to raise an amazing £3316 which will be equally split between the both.
The evening took place at the Royal Tiger Restaurant in Rettendon, Essex who had kindly allowed us to use their restaurant to hold our evening, all those who attended were able to indulge themselves with a mixture of Indian and Thai cuisine with a lovely banqueting meal followed by live entertainment, raffle, auction and then could dance the rest of the night away with restaurants resident in house DJ.
It was an amazing evening and we would like to say a big thank you to those who supported us with this event, especially the hard work of our members.
We would also like to thank the Royal Tiger, especially Ash and Lacko for allowing us to exclusively use the restaurant for the night and the wonderful food and service which all of the staff provided.
We would like to thank Dominic Harris for providing the charity posters flyers and tickets,The Only Way is Balloons for providing the wonderful table decorations and balloons, Great Photo for providing guests with the opportunity to have their photographs taken, Lucie Beal for the amazing cupcakes our guests could indulge themselves with and of course all of those individual people and companies who generously donated items for both our raffle and charity auction.
A massive Thank You to you all. Without all of this help and support our charity evening wouldn't have been such a great success and we wouldn't have raised the amazing amount which we did.
